Why November 11th?

Today we’d like to take a little time to honor those that deserve it more than most, our veterans. First, a little history of Veteran’s Day – Do you know why Veteran’s Day is November 11? That’s because at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, World War I officially ended. This day was originally called Armistice Day, but in 1945 the named was changed to Veteran’s Day by then President Eisenhower.

We were honored to be able to fabricate this one-of-a-kind fire pit for a local Marine. The entire project took us about an hour and a half to fabricate and is made of strong, durable steel. Obviously, this fire pit was built to celebrate the Marines. “Semper Fi!” But, we would love to make a fire pit for each of the other 3 branches (Army, Navy, and Air Force). The Highest Honor

It’s great that we have the national holidays – Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day – to remind us to thank these people each year. However, we believe it’s safe to say that these men and women deserve much more than that! Therefore, we’d like to challenge all of you to start thanking and honoring the veterans you know or encounter on a more regular basis. Let’s start with finding at least one veteran a week to honor.

We’ll start it off by sending a huge thank to our nephews Jacob and Ben Swatek for their service in the marines. Your service does not go unnoticed and we hope you know how much it is appreciated.
