Farmhouse Railings

Wiswell Farm’s Newest Addition

Client: Wiswell Farm

Location: Elkhorn, WI

Project Type: Parking & Safety Railing

Material: Steel; Powder Coated Black

Length: 120 feet

Start to Finish: Four Days

When Wiswell Farm had some old, worn down railing that needed to be upgraded, they knew exactly who to call!
R.C. Portable Welding made a trip out to the farm to evaluate the job and provide an estimate. After terms were agreed upon, we got to work fabricating the 120ft of railing and getting it powder coated. Once all of the railing was complete, it was time for installation. We dug each footing, filled them with concrete, and completely installed the railing ourselves because we prefer to make each job as easy and economical for our customers as possible.

We’re proud to be considered a “One-Stop-Shop!”

Loader Bucket Rebuild

When your bucket needs more than just a little TLC…

Client: Brooks Tractor Incorporated

Location: In Shop

Project Type: Farm Machinery Rebuild

Start to Finish: Two Days

Over time those heavy-lifting pieces of equipment can become so worn down that they need a complete overhaul.
That is exactly what Brooks Tractor Inc. thought when they took a look at this 4-in-1 loader bucket.

They gave R.C. Welding a call, accepted our quote over the phone, and the bucket was delivered to our shop for its makeover.

First, we torched off the cutting edge and each of the wear plates.

Second, we cleaned the surface of the bucket so our welds would hold.

Last, we welded on the new steel cutting edge and 8 new steel wear plates.

See for yourself!

BEFORE

As you can see towards the top of these pictures, the cutting edge has been worn off and is actually missing on the right side of the middle picture.
In addition, each of the 8 wear plates have been worn smooth.

Free-Floating Curved Staircase

“Every job starts with an idea…”

Our customer’s wish was to have a curved staircase that was free of any type of support columns from the deck down or, “free-floating.

There were two major challenges to accommodate this request.
  • CHALLENGE #1 – We needed an engineer to design such a structure and determine what size and type of material was needed to safely support a free-floating deck. We found that engineer in New York and the material required was calculated out to be 2” x 12” rectangular tubing.
  • CHALLENGE #2 We needed to find a company with a CNC roller capable of handling our requirements. We finally located such a company in Missouri and once the stringers were rolled and delivered to our shop, fabrication commenced!

How do you think it turned out?

Oh yeah, we worked on this spiral staircase as well.

Check it out!
