Remodel with a Touch of Quatrefoil

Unique Touch: Quatrefoil design

You’re probably wondering the same thing that we did when this homeowner requested a “quatrefoil” design…what’s quatrefoil? The technical definition is “an ornamental design of four lobes or leaves as used in architectural tracery, resembling a flower or four-leaf clover.” In other words, the predominant design used in the railings and support gussets as seen in the pictures below.

 

We have to thank our friends over at Thelen Total Construction in Elkhorn, WI. They called us immediately after the homeowner asked for railings with a quatrefoil design. We drove out to meet them and the homeowner at the house, came up with a design plan that the homeowner loved, and got to work! We are particularly proud of the curved railing in the first picture that was fabricated in shop using our tubing roller. To help save time and money, we installed each railing (just like we always do!). We even took the time to install stainless steel hinges and fill in some gaps on this metal gate to bring it up to code.

Driveway Gate Project

Start to Finish: Six Days

Driveway gates have got to be our favorite type of project to work on! There are so many possibilities involved from overall design and color to the intricate details that make each gate unique.
For this particular gate, the homeowner contacted us looking for a sleek, simple gate and provided an idea of what they hoped the finish product would look like.  After meeting with them on site of their new home build and finalizing a design, we got to work. As you can probably guess, the most intricate part of this gate was cutting and bending each loop for the top of the gate. Each piece of the puzzle was fabricated and welding together in our shop. Then, all that was left was to have the gates powder coated matte black for the rod iron look and installed.

We install every gate we fabricate to help save our customers time and money…and we enjoy it!
